Chen-Yi Lee

Chen-Yi Lee

Professor in Institute of Electronics

Stanford University

Chen-Yi Lee received the B.S. degree from National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University(NCTU), Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 1982, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Katholieke University Leuven (KUL), Leuven, Belgium, in 1986 and 1990, respectively, all in electrical engineering. From 1986 to 1990, he was with IMEC/VSDM, Leuven, working in the area of architecture synthesis for DSP. In February 1991, he joined the Department of Electronics Engineering, NCTU, where he was the Chairperson from 2003 to 2006. He holds more than 50 U.S. patents and cofounded four startups related to data-driven applications. His research interests mainly include very large-scale integration (VLSI) algorithms and architectures for high-throughput DSP applications. He is also active in various aspects of micro-sensing, lowpower system on-chip, and deep learning. Dr. Lee serves as a member of Science and Technology Policy Advisor Office. He received the Outstanding Technology Licensing Award from National Science Council from 2007 to 2008, and the Industry Contribution Award from Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Outstanding Research Award from National Science Council in 2009.
